Easter
As I struggle to get my 19 year old and my 23 year old to come to church with me this morning, I wonder where my example and modeling has gone. My faith is the most important part of my life and drives me to serve and to love better. As parents we wonder what happened to our kids. If I were to remember my own childhood, I would see many flaws and diversions. I don’t remember ever discounting the value of Easter and the celebration of the memory of Christ’s suffering and eventual rise from the dead. I guess my kids will get there a different way than I. My point is that we can never stop trying to be virtuous and never stop using our strengths in the three great arenas: love, work, and parenting. The question becomes what are our strengths and virtues? I am going to start looking at the numerous possible strengths and how to use them effectively. The reason is that your authentic happiness is based on using your strengths everyday to impact other lives. The concept of ROAR is based on this principle. In upcoming blogs, I am going to share first, how we have lost many of our virtues because in the past 100 years, we blame everything on our environment, secondly, how to discover your strengths, and thirdly how to use those strengths. This is meant to help you find lasting fulfillment.

Your example will not be wasted when the time is ripe for your children…they will remember..
